Engineers does not deal with machines only, they communicate with people too. This make communication skills vital. Having excellent communication skills allow an engineer to deliver their thoughts clearly and accurately which is important during a discussion. Also, having good communication skill allows engineer to build relationships and bond with each better.

回复删除I think global here mean connection between different people across all country. As technology advance, now engineers get to travel all across the world. This brings them great opportunity to work, collaborate and communicate with different people(not only engineers). As such, having good communication skill is important since communication between people is inevitable.
删除I agree that communication skills is vital too. A good leader requires good communication in order to deliver instructions to other people. Good explanation of the quote and I agree with it.
